Package splitting is mainly used when each order line in S&T physically represents a label that will be attached to the packages being received. Within a Receive order, packages can be split in two different ways.

Essential criteria:
- The user must have access to the warehouse and account assigned to the Receive order.
- The user must have the permission to edit Receive orders enabled.
Splitting a package into two packages
Considering the following example where for the part number 906405-01, 2 pallets are expected to be received, each with 10 boxes, and we want to label both pallets. In this case, a single split can be applied if the order is as shown below:
To do this, follow these steps:
- On the line for part number 906405-01, click the
button located in the third column of the row. This will open a small window.
- Click the radio button for the first option; it will turn into a blue circle.
- Enter the quantity of 10 in the box; this number represents the quantity of boxes the second line will have, which will be removed from the original line.
- Click Create split. This will generate the lines as follows:
Splitting a package into multiple packages
Taking into consideration the following example where for the part number 25C125KCS, 5 pallets with 12 boxes each are expected to be received, for a total of 60 boxes, and we want to label each of the boxes on the pallets. We can apply package splitting if we have the Receive order as shown below:
To do this, follow these steps:
- On the line for part number 25C125KCS, click the
button located in the third column of the row. This will open a small window.
- Click the radio button for the second option.
- In the first box, enter the quantity of 59. This number represents the total number of new lines that will be generated from the original line, which will still remain after the split.
- Enter the quantity of 1. This is the number of units each line will have. These units will be subtracted from the original line, leaving it with one unit as well.
- Click Create split. This will generate the new lines as follows:
