The creation of locations represents the spaces within a warehouse where inventory will be placed.

Create a location in a warehouse
Essential criteria:
- The user must have access to the warehouse where the location will be created.
- Its name must be unique within the warehouse.
- The user must have the "Edit Warehouses" permission enabled.
There are two ways to create a location. The first is:
- From the system setup, navigate to the Warehouses menu.
- Search for the warehouse you want to manage.
- In the Add location column, click the
button.
The second method is:
- From the system setup, navigate to the Warehouses menu.
- Search for the warehouse you want to manage.
- In the View locations column of the Warehouses list, click the
button.
- Click the Add button
.
Both methods will direct you to the same screen where you must:
- Enter the name of the new location.
- Mark the location as Enabled.
- Click Create location. This will return you to the warehouse’s main screen with a confirmation that the location was created.
Edit a location
Essential criteria:
- The user must have access to the warehouse.
- The user must have the "Edit Warehouses" permission enabled.
- The name must be unique within the warehouse.
Steps to follow:
- From the system setup, navigate to the Warehouses menu.
- Search for the warehouse you want to manage.
- In the View locations column of the Warehouses list, click the
button.
- Search for the location you want to edit.
- In the Edit column, click the
button.
- Update the necessary information.
- Click
to save changes.
Disable a location
A location is disabled when it has had inventory movements and will no longer be needed by your team.
Essential criteria:
- The user must have access to the warehouse.
- The user must have the "Edit Warehouses" permission enabled.
Steps to follow:
- Search for the location you want to disable.
- In the Edit column, click the
button.
- Uncheck the Enabled checkbox.
- Click Save location.
Re-enable a location
If a previously disabled location needs to be managed again, you can re-enable it instead of creating a new one.
Essential criteria:
- The user must have access to the warehouse.
- The user must have the "Edit Warehouses" permission enabled.
Steps to follow:
- Search for the location you want to re-enable.
- In the Edit column, click the
button.
- Check the Enabled checkbox.
- Click Save location.
Remove a location
Essential criteria:
- The user must have access to all warehouses registered in the system.
- The user must have the "Remove Warehouses" permission enabled.
- The location must have no inventory movement history.
- If it has inventory movements, you can disable it instead.
Steps to follow:
- Search for the location you want to remove.
- In the Delete column, click the
button. This will open a dialog.
- Click the Delete button.
