When a package is identified as damaged or in poor condition, it can be placed in a hold location to prevent its use in warehouse operations.

Create a hold location
Essential criteria:
- The user must have access to the warehouse where the location will be created.
- The location name must be unique within the warehouse.
- The user must have the "Edit Warehouses" permission enabled.
Steps to follow:
- From the system setup, navigate to the Warehouses menu.
- Search for the warehouse you want to manage.
- Two methods to create a location:
- In the Add location column, click the
button.
- In the View locations column of the Warehouses list, click the
button, then click Add
.
- In the Add location column, click the
- Enter the new location name.
- Check the Enabled checkbox.
- Check the On Hold checkbox.
- Click Create Location. This will return you to the warehouse's main screen with a confirmation message.
Enable a standard location as a hold location
Existing standard locations can be converted to hold locations without creating new ones.
Essential criteria:
- The user must have warehouse access.
- The user must have the "Edit Warehouses" permission enabled.
Steps to follow:
- From the system setup, navigate to the Warehouses menu.
- Search for the warehouse to manage.
- In the View locations column of the Warehouses list, click the
button.
- Find the location to enable as a hold location.
- Check the On Hold checkbox.
- Click the Save Location button.
