In Stock & Trace, for all products that are not managed by part number, it is necessary to use a label that allows the product to be identified and to maintain precise control of all operations performed on the package, including its reception, splitting, consolidation, location changes, shipments, among others.
USI Type Labels
By default, inventory is managed using labels that identify packages containing the same part number. The USI (Unique Stock Item) is the core of the inventory system, as it represents an item in stock that has been received into the system, along with its complete history and associated information.
For packages that meet the above characteristic, the following types of labeling are available:
- Simple label: Simple labels present a limited amount of information compared to detailed labels. They focus on showing only the most relevant data, such as the Receive order number and the label code.
- Detailed label: Detailed labels offer comprehensive information related to the product or part number being received. This information can include the client, the exact quantity received, serials, and other pertinent data. Since each client may require specific information, we offer a variety of label formats to meet those needs.
- Your client's labels: These are the labels already managed in your client's inventory, where the only essential requirement is that each label has a unique identifier across the client's entire inventory.
Below, we present three examples of general receiving scenarios using USI type labels.
Scenario 1: A pallet is received at a 3PL, in which each box contains different part numbers.
Example: A pallet is received containing the following boxes:
- Box 1: Part number A - Quantity: 10 units - USI type label: LBL-00000001
- Box 2: Part number B - Quantity: 15 units - USI type label: LBL-00000002
- Box 3: Part number C - Quantity: 5 units - USI type label: LBL-00000003
Scenario 2: A pallet is received at a 3PL, in which all boxes contain the same part number and the same quantity of units, and full pallets are shipped.
Example: The following pallets are received containing:
- Pallet 1 - Total boxes: 20 - USI type label: LBL-00000001.
- Pallet 2 - Total boxes: 20 - USI type label: LBL-00000002.
Scenario 3: A pallet is received at a 3PL, where all boxes contain the same part number, but partial quantities of the pallet are shipped.
Example: A pallet is received containing:
- Box 1: Part number D - Quantity: 20 units - USI type label: LBL-00000001
- Box 2: Part number D - Quantity: 20 units - USI type label: LBL-00000002
- Box 3: Part number D - Quantity: 20 units - USI type label: LBL-00000003
(Total for the pallet: 60 units of Part number D)

License Plate Type Labels
Another option we offer is mixed inventory management, which allows for including different part numbers in a single package. For this, we provide simple or detailed labels, in combination with License Plate type labels. In this context, a USI type label will only be assigned to the minimum packaging unit that contains a single part number.
Below, we present a general example of a receiving scenario using License Plate labels in combination with USI labels.
Scenario: A pallet is received at a distribution center, where each box on the pallet contains different part numbers.
