The part number is the term the system uses to refer to the different products that are managed in orders and in inventory.

Create a part number
Criteria for creating a part number:
- The user must have access to the account and warehouse where the part number will be handled.
- The user must have the permission to create part lists enabled.
- The part number name must not be previously registered.
- The package types to be used for receipts and shipments must be registered beforehand.
Steps to create a part number:
- From the Setup menu, go to the Partmaster.
- Click the Partmaster menu.
- Click the Create part number button.
- In the Account dropdown list, select the client or supplier that will use the new part number.
- Click the first Unit of measure dropdown list and select the corresponding unit.
- Click the second Unit of measure dropdown list and select the corresponding measurement type.
- In Enabled, make sure the box is checked.
- In Part Number, enter the name of the part number.
- Enter a Description for the part number.
- Select the package in which the part number will be received in the Receiving default package dropdown list.
- Select the package in which the part number will be shipped in the Shipping default package dropdown list.
- In Standard pack, enter the quantity of part numbers that the default packages will contain.
- Press Save changes.
Edit a part number
Criteria for editing a part number:
- The user must have access to the account and warehouse where the part number will be handled.
- The user must have the permission to edit part lists enabled.
- The part number name must be unique for the assigned account.
Steps to edit a part number:
- From the Setup menu, go to the Partmaster.
- Click the Partmaster menu.
- Find the part number you want to edit.
- In the Edit column, click the
button.
- Modify the necessary information.
- Press Save changes.
Disable a part number
Since a part number created in the system can no longer be deleted by any possible method, it must be disabled if inventory for that part number will no longer be managed.
Criteria for disabling a part number:
- The user must have access to the account and warehouse where the part number will be handled.
- The user must have the permission to edit the part list enabled.
- There must be no active inventory for the part number.
Steps to disable a part number:
- From the Setup menu, go to the Partmaster.
- Click the Partmaster menu.
- Find the part number you want to disable.
- In the Edit column, click the
button.
- Uncheck the Enabled box.
- Press Save changes.
- If the system still has active inventory for the part number, the following message will appear:
